Netwalking Event at Newlay locks
Leeds Netwalking Event
Recently, we were joined by the West & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce for the first Netwalking event of the year at our office in Kirkstall Forge.
Recap: Netwalking in Leeds
Leading the pack, the West & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce executed their first event of the year, providing the opportunity for directors and leaders to get together and explore opportunities while enjoying a walk in nature.
The event started with a chance for attendees to introduce themselves over a few refreshments, including Christmas cake, our office treat.
Shortly after, the team headed off for a walk around Newlay Locks, headed by a Canal & River Trust tour guide. A stone's throw from our office, the canal presented a great location for light exercise while enjoying the fresh air along Newlay locks.
The History of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal
On the tour, a few interesting facts and trivia on the history of the canal were shared. Interestingly, the Leeds and Liverpool Canal is the longest single canal in Britain. The canal was primarily used to transport facilities and aided in the growth of several industries, including coal mining and the development of towns and villages, and even influenced agricultural practices along its length.
Following the walk, refreshments were supplied by Butler's where further networking accompanied by nibbles were enjoyed.
Thanks to the West & North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce for hosting a fantastic event.
